Well I finally got one of the long lost tea towels I've been waiting for weeks on. It turns out they got mailed to the previous apartment I was first told I was moving into. I completely forgot to inform my swaps partners of the change (as things were CHAOS then....some of my worst days...) and alas there it was. There was also a bunch of secrets fromt he post secret swap I'm in. Good thing I asked for them to be put in envelopes, otherwise the lady who lives in that apartment would have thought I was a nut after reading all those anonymous secrets. I'd be embarassed to take them from her. Ha ha!
Anyhoo, as promised here is the kitty on a rope cross-stitch I finished while waiting for the towels to arrive. I got the kit for my birthday from my brother and his wife along with a dalmation pup sleeping in blanket (which I have in the works!). They also got me frames for them so I just need to get some backing for it and voilĂ !
It didn't really take much time at all...I forget the measurents..it requires a frame slightly larger than 5x7 I think??
I'm also working on some other things for the Needlework Swap I'm in on craftster. I can't wait to see the gallery. There are so many incredibly talented people in the swap I'm going to be drooling over all the exquisiteness. I can't wait to post my finished items!

WHOA!!
Well its been awhile but I don't think my audience will complain too much! ;) I've been really busy with life lately I would loose my head if it wasn't attached. So my husband has since moved out and is living with his best friend who happens to be going through a nasty divorce. If it comes to that with Dallas, I think we'll be able to come to terms without any significant damage. I still love my husband dearly, I just don't think we're compatible in the personal relationship sense....if you follow me.
On another somewhat sour note I still haven't received the towels I'm waiting for from the Tea Towel Tour from craftster. Its been nearly a month I think. I fear the worst. :(
Here's the last towel I finished which was Beetastics. I managed to fit 13 stitches in and the majority I learned for the first time. They weren't too bad but I definitely need more practice.
Speaking of the wonderful Beetastic, you should go drop her a line at her blog Sweet Bee as she's celebrating her one year anniversary as a blogger and she's even giving away a sweet bird towel she hand emrboidered and some other goodies.
Since I've had a bit of downtime without the towels to work on I've finished the kitten cross-stitch I've been working on so I'll take pics of that and have it ready for next time. Now I'm attempting to finish a butterfly cross-stitch I've been wanting to give to my mother for mothers day for a couple years now. I should have it done this time around (fingers crossed!).

OH no I've been Tagged!
Apparently there's a bug going around the craft blogs called tag. I seem to have caught it myself so you better be careful or it'll get you too! ;)
Seven things people don't know about me. Hmmm....why 7? Who knows.
1. I usually walk around my apartment with no pants on.
2. I'm afraid of spiders.
3. I love picking scabs, kicking the snow from underneath the car, writing on a fresh piece of paper, and making a clean mark in something dirty........mmm staisfying.
4. I get addicted to things easily.
5. I'm very gullible.
6. I can't suck on hard candies....they get crunched in less than 20 seconds.
7. I wish I could be an actress...although I'm very shy.
So I guesss that's that. :)
I didn't get around to posting my grandmother's craft card catalogue last time so without further ado, here it is!
I want to make one of these vests. It's so tacky I love it! The entire photo just screams the 60's.
Dallas enjoys this photo the best because the little girl is flipping the bird. I didn't even notice at first. ;)

Have a great St. Patty's Day everyone and drive safe!

That was a DOOZY!
Well I'm back, and its SO GOOD to be back. We finally have the internet and I FINALLY found my camera and got some new batteries. There's still SO MUCH to do here but we're really taking it nice and slow. Since Dallas works nights he doesn't want to make to much noise when he's off as I'm sleeping and I don't want to make too much when he's sleeping during the day. Here's a glimpse of the chaos we're living in!
Not bad eh!? There is so much natural light coming in through the window its going to really help alot. The chair is from the kitchen table. I need to get a nice comfy chair that adjusts up and down. Some curtains would be nice too. Could I make curtains?? I've wanted to for awhile, but I don't really have the time right now. Sigh....so many ideas...so little time. I'm a lazy person as it is and I've learned if you let things lay on the back burner for awhile, the house isn't going to burn down.
On the plus side however I now have my own little craft room. I've managed to put away most things but I still need to decorate and hang my tea towels.

On another note, I finally finished that shamrock diaper I was working on. I lost the floss I was using in the move and had to get another one. I think the outline turned out pretty nice!
Now I just need to finish Beetastic's Tea Towel for Monday to ship out for the Tea Towel Tour 3 I'm participating in at Craftster. Its awesome fun and keeps me busy. Speaking of keeping busy I've been doing a lot of that lately. My neice's 3rd birthday just passed and I'm planning on converting an old shirt into a sundress for her. I still need to get her measurements though. I also need to finish the wedding pillow I started so long ago for a friend as well as another diaper for my SIL's sister. Hopefully I get everything done before I leave for home. Er... well....old home...my parents...there.
Alright well I'm sure I've blathered on long enough. I can't wait till tomorrow when I'll put up some pics of my Grandmas old craft card box. Its pretty neat and I've already pulled out some cards for future projects. The to do list just never stops growing does it? :)
By the way, I'm having so much trouble editing these posts. Why are they not being formatted how they are in the edit box? I have no way of knowing what its going to look like once I click Save! Its incredibly frustrating!

We're at a standstill
So we're pretty much packed and ready to go. MacGyver is obviously ready to get to his new home which just so happens to be less than a couple minutes up the street! We've been wanting to move for awhile now as we are slowly running out of space but what broke the camels back were the harrassing phone calls and mysterious letters I've been getting lately. Very creepy!
On the plus side however we'll be getting more storage space and I'll be getting my very own craft den! I can't wait. I'll miss being near my husband (Dallas) while I work (as he'll be busy in the "music room") but it will make getting things done a lot easier without the distraction and mess. We were suposed to have moved this past Saturday but the people we are dealing with are the WORST so we lost money on the truck we rented as well as all our helpers. Hopefully Monday will be the day and cross you fingers there will be some kind of truck available. I don't suspect too may people will be moving on a Monday though so we should be fine. I had to dig through my craft boxes to get my hand on a project to pass the time. AHA! Found the perfect item! I need to embroider on a couple diapers for my SIL (Sister-in-Law)'s sister's baby shower. My SIL (Emily) will then sew them into a nice cloth diaper. She's been making TONS lately as her, her sister (Jordan) AND their best friend (Artie) are all pregnant and due at about the same time. They also all want cloth diapers too. More power to them. I'd like to go in that direction when I have kids but I would seriously have to donate an entire washer to cleaning them. I won't be washing my regular clothes with balls of poo covered in fabric and I don't care how clean my brother says it is, there's gotta be reamaining particles attached to you at all times. Maybe that's why he always has pink eye? HA!
Okay I've been rambling so back to the subject at hand, the diapers.
Jordans's husband is Irish (they had a really neat wedding with the men in quilts with swords!) so I'm just doing a simple clover with their last name atop. Yes I should have done a four leaf but I love the design in this one too much not to do it.
My progress so far. I was going to outline the light green very lightly with one strand of dark green. I think outlining gives everything a more polished look. I was also going to do the letters in the same dark green but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?

A New Outlet
Dear God what have I done? Do I dare enter the daunting world of blogging? "Come on, everyone's doing it!", they tell me. Sure why not? I like a challenge. I'm just worried my life is really not worth someone reading about. Hmmmm....maybe this will be that push I've been looking for to get a new camera. I can't go posting crap photos now can I? Or can I? Naw, I've visited far too many blogs to know better! I need to link to other sites when I mention something or someone's work too right? I'm going to have to brush up on my HTML skills too. Perhaps there's a guide to blogging somewhere I can check out. I'll be a pro before the month is over. Just you wait!
